I’m not even going to TRY to update you, I’ll just start over. Surprisingly, it takes a lot of time and energy to keep a blog up to date.
First of all, you need to have something to say that might be of interest to someone else in the world. I could write about anything (perhaps staplers or maybe even bra straps) and there would probably be at least be one person on earth who would get it. However, I like to write about things that many people would enjoy and perhaps get a good chuckle out of.
Which brings me to my second point. Pictures. Isn’t it nice to look at great pictures? I can’t say I always take great pictures, but I do enjoy the structure, color and dynamics of a well-taken photo and I enjoy posting them for all to see when I have one to share.
The third thing is time. Not only do you need to have something somewhat-interesting to say and maybe a picture or two to back up your story, but you also need the time to implement these two things. Not only that, but I personally need structure-time in my head as to how I’ll put the two together, as well as the actual sitting-down time to get it on the blog.
Which brings me to the second point of time. Whenever I sit down to post on my blog, I end up doing a thousand other things online and it ends up taking 3 hours of my time just being on the computer. You know what I’m talking about, I know you do.
The other reason I haven’t posted is that my memory card reader in my computer hasn’t been working and I’ve been way too lazy and cheap to unplug the whole thing and drive 30 minutes to take it to the repair shop. What a pain! I put it off for months and months until I was on a deadline to get my Christmas cards done (and I wanted the kind with the pictures on them) and I needed to upload pictures to Snapfish (the place I planned on getting them done). Although instead of taking my computer in to get fixed, I took some online tutorials and fixed it myself. I KNOW, I’m a total genius!
So I fixed my memory card reader, uploaded my pictures, made my Christmas cards, placed the order, received my cards in the mail, showed them to Eric, my mother-in-law, and the kids and now I can’t find them. Anywhere. I’ve had them for one week and they’re lost forever. I’ve cleaned out a closet, my office, and kitchen drawers. I’ve looked in the van, the kids rooms, under the couch, etc. This is the first time I’ve ever made those picture-type cards and what do I promptly do? I go and lose them. Who does that?! Goodbye $14.95 and my pride and glory! So if you are a friend or a family member reading this right now, consider this your Christmas card with good intentions.
This is the part where I upload a picture for your viewing pleasure. Of course it won’t be related to anything I’ve talked about today since I’ve only been rambling endlessly, but enjoy anyway.
Here are the kids in their Halloween costumes this year. I made them into a Happy Meal, hahaha! Do you want a coke with that?
